The cancer of instant gratification

So over the last few days I've been getting really frustrated, and discouraged and after thinking about it I know what it was. I was wanting an instant return on the work I put into everything. I was feeling that need for instant gratification. After listening to the guys at Secret Entourage and then Daniel Dipiazza, who is awesome by the way, I knew that things like this blog and then social media takes time to build and gain a following.
Which is the way it is. Even though it sucks and you're gonna have those times that you wanna give up and say fuck it, but you can't because this is something that you want to do. I also think that that is the reason my ecig shop didn't work out better, and that's because of the instant gratification aspect of life that has been engrained in us by the media. I wanted it to pay off right then and it didn't. I will say this I found that the ego-t vaporizers do really well a $15 each and you can source them easily from China and they're a better quality too. (Hint hint knudge knudge.)
Looking back I realized that I didn't start that venture for the right purpose and that was a factor as to why I failed combined with the market in the area I had to open in. Is there any sure fire way to combat this? No, or at least not that I have found. The best way to resist is to stay focused and to remind yourself of your long term goals. Instant gratification has be perpeturated by the main stream media and frankly it can be seen as a cancer that needs to stop.

A Little About Me.

Ok, so after posting a few things about business, I figure you have an idea about what this is going to be about. What I haven't done is give you some insight into me as a person and my life.       So to get started, my name is Kevin. I am the husband to a wonderful wife, Andrea, and father to two wonderful kids, Caleb and Shelby. I am also a veteran of the U.S. Navy where I spent seven years of my life to my country. You can see my wife and son in the picture that is attached.        So what got me into business is I think my dad. He's in his fifties actually almost sixty now, and has wanted to start his own company, but unfortunately never got the chance to. He is a hard worker and takes pride in what he does.                My first foray into the world of business was right after the birth of my son. I started in the world of affiliate ...

Hello and Welcome.

What is the purpose of this blog?      In short what I want to do with this blog is allow people to come and learn, and even give their opinion on topics. Not only that I also want this to be a bit of support for those that are starting on this journey whether you're married or not. Why did I start this blog...    The reason I decided to start this is to chronicle my journey into affiliate marketing. Which I will do a post on in the coming days and explain what affiliate marketing is and how you can make money doing it. A little bit about me.... My name is Kevin, and I have been an entrprenuer since about 2012. I was kind of thrust into it as a way to help bring in some income with the birth of my son. Six years later and it's been a rollercoaster with some failures and minor successes. On the other side I have an amazing wife of six years and two wonderful kids, one of which is high functioning Autistic. Needless to say it's been an interesti...

Investing

So a friend of mine asked me about investing, and so this post is in response to that. Any of us that have been in the workforce for any length of time know about investing from the lens of a retirement account, but did you know there are more way to invest your money than just a retirement account. In all honesty investing is the only way that you can make money and not do anything to earn it, but you can also loose a fortune as well. With that being said let's get to it. Ok so there are several options that you have when it comes to investing and investment accounts. I won't get into them but I will tell you what they are. We hear a lot about retirement accounts a lot of times those are tax deferred which is good until you withdraw the money, and then obviously you pay the tax on it. Within this group there are IRA's, Roth IRA's, 401k's, and 403b's. Roth IRA'S and IRA's are purchased through places like Edward Jones. Most employers offer a 401k plan ...
